One of the stories of the 2025-26 regular season for the LA Clippers was Jordan Miller. He stood out tremendously, finishing the season with double-digit points averages, but it took a long journey to get there. The front office waived Miller last July; he signed a two-way deal later that month, proved he deserved a standard contract, and eventually signed a three-year contract with the Clippers this summer.
Well, Cam Christie, who was a second-round pick just like Miller, could follow nearly the exact same path. The Clippers just parted ways with Jamarion Sharp, which opened up a two-way slot. This means Christie could be waived before the regular season, signed to the spot Sharp occupied, and if he shows the organization he’s too good to miss out on during his third year, the front office will undoubtedly hold on to him for the long run.

To stand out, Jordan Miller knew the margin for error was thin. So, what did he do? Miller produced exactly what the LA Clippers needed on both ends of the court.
Offensively, Miller took smart shots, made high-IQ plays, flashed his skill set, and didn’t try to play superhero and do too much. On the other end, he excelled in simply holding his ground.
Soon enough, head coach Tyronn Lue grasped how versatile Miller was and began to make the most of it. The 26-year-old responded by continuing to thrive.
Quite frankly, this is exactly what Cam Christie needs to do next season to one day secure a long-term deal with the Clippers, if he is eventually waived and signed to a two-way contract.
At the same time, getting in the weight room and showing he can use his strength as an advantage on the court would help his case tremendously. Doing so will eliminate the concerns he has flashed thus far with physicality and playing through contact.
At the end of the day, the Clippers have had one success story in Miller. They would of course welcome another with Christie, and that is honestly the hope as we gear up for the upcoming regular season.
What should be noted is that a two-way would probably be Christie’s last chance with the Clippers. He’s on a short leash, and if he underperforms once more, it’s highly unlikely LA is open to trying again next year.
